The Sports Performance Coaching Group was established to create a supportive environment where athletes can enhance their inner performance and integrate their skills across all areas of development, ultimately helping them achieve their sporting goals and dreams.

While athletes typically receive technical, tactical, and physical coaching, they are often left to manage their own mental and emotional strategies. This can result in missed opportunities, suboptimal performance, and a heightened risk of injury. Research indicates that athletes perform at their best when their training embraces the mind-body connection.

This coaching group aims to support athletes across multiple sporting codes in:

  • Enhancing confidence
  • Increasing self-belief
  • Developing resilience while under pressure
  • Overcoming fear of failure and physical injury (or re-injury)
  • Build focus and emotional regulation for sport

The Journey to Group Coaching

It all started in 2020…

In 2020, I created an online meditation group. Due to the prolonged lockdowns, many people needed emotional support and social connection so the group was open to all. The mediation group interaction, sharing, and peer learning proved to be powerful. The participants could learn from each other and connect with like-minded individuals.

After starting the online meditation group, I launched the Meta Athlete Coaching Program, a live online short course helping athletes develop a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection and improve their performance. The Program provided a safe, judgment-free, and impartial environment for athletes to discuss their performance, and address any challenges. The diversity of athletes from different sporting codes sharing their unique challenges and solutions proved invaluable. Once the course ended, the overwhelming feedback from participants was that they desired ongoing and regular support beyond the initial course.

It’s taken a while to conjure up how to facilitate ongoing and regular support to a large group of people. The Sports Performance Coaching Group, fuses the live discourse and learning from the online course with the interactive, support community group feel from the meditation group. The Coaching Group is a cost-effective way for athletes who have previously worked with or are interested in working with me to receive ongoing coaching and support. The group provides a platform for athletes to receive continuous support from their peers and me, focusing on their well-being, mental and emotional performance, and other tools and techniques to enhance their ability to perform at their best.

What’s included?

  • 2 x 1-hour live sessions per month
  • Sessions run 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7.30 pm (subject to change)
  • Guest speakers from elite and professional sporting environments
  • All sessions are recorded and viewable in the Interactive private Facebook community
  • Self-paced online learning modules and sports-focussed meditations
  • Weekly goal-setting and accountability activities

The group session will include a discourse, breathwork and/or meditation session (no experience necessary)

This is designed specifically to build focus and emotional regulation for sport and exclusively accessible for athletes only (emerging to Olympic)

Athletes can suggest areas of interest in the group community chat

Cost: $14.50 AUD per week, debited fortnightly. There is no lock-in contract, you can cancel anytime

When can I join?
At anytime.

What age range is the group suitable for?
From age 14 and up. Upon sign up athletes must provide their parent/guardian contact, and sign the contract.

I’m under 18, can my parents attend?
Yes – parents and guardians are welcome to attend sessions

When and how can I cancel?
At any time as long as it’s before the next debit has been deducted. There are no refunds. You can log onto your booking profile and cancel your subscription, or send me an email and I’ll action it for you.

If I don’t like the course, can I get a refund?
No. I offer a 2-week free trial to give you time to see if you like the course.

How do I pay?
I use a subscription-based payment system. All payments are made through Stripe – a secure online and face-to-face payment system.

Do I have to attend the lives?
No, they are all recorded and you can watch them in your own time.

I don’t have Facebook – can I still join?
Yes, the recorded videos are emailed out after each session. You won’t however be able to interact with the other athletes in the group.

Do I have to do the course work or online modules?
No, but you’ll get more out of the group if you do.

I’m not an athlete, but I’m interested in increasing my confidence. Can I join?
No. This group is for athletes – emerging and established – only.  Upon sign up you will need to agree to the terms and conditions of the group.

What sports does the group cover?
All sports.

Can I ask questions throughout the course? 
Yes, you can leave comments in the FB group and either the group or I will answer them directly.

Do you discuss my progress with my coaches?
No. This level of support is only available in my private sports performance coaching.

Do I need to have experience in meditation, breathwork, or mindfulness?

Do you offer private coaching as I want more tailored advice, guidance and support?
Yes, and many of the athletes in the group have completed private coaching with me, or my meta-athlete online course. The meta-athlete course is undergoing a revamp.
